Adam Pourcho, DO is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine based in Seattle, Washington. He specializes in the treatment and prevention of sports and musculoskeletal related injuries. He has spent over 20-years in the field, working with everyone from professional athletes to weekend warriors.

Dr. Pourcho has remained continually active academically, teaching ultrasound to fellow physicians, and in research with multiple publications and book chapters on sports related injuries, regenerative medicine/orthobiologics, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. He has also been active in the community as head team physician for the Seattle Storm and providing care for multiple local causes. He is a regular instructor for the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), The Orthobiologic Institute (TOBI), the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM), and has multiple publications in book chapters and peer reviewed articles on diagnostic and interventional ultrasound.

Dr. Pourcho trained at Mayo Clinic with Dr. Jay Smith, MD in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. He is certified to do diagnostic and interventional ultrasound guided procedures with the American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARDMS) and is a nationally and internationally known figure in diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. He has specialized training in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he uses to provide precise, less invasive treatments. While at the Mayo Clinic Dr. Pourcho received specialized training in the treatment of tendinopathties such as lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow), medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow), achilles tendinitis, patellar tendinitis, and plantar fasciitis. Finally, Dr. Pourcho has expertise in in-office ultrasound guided carpal tunnel release using the sonex device.

When not helping his patients Dr. Pourcho enjoys hiking, playing ice hockey in a local league, circuit training, spending time with his family, and sports of all kinds.

Dr. Pourcho completed his under-graduate education at Michigan State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Specialization in Athletic Training. He graduated from medical school at Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, did his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Wayne State University and his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Over the last two decades as an athletic trainer and doctor he has worked with the Detroit Lions (National Football League), Michigan State University, Wayne State University, Rochester Community Technical College, head team physician for the Seattle Storm, associate team physician for the Seattle Reign. MHSAA wrestling, AAU wrestling, and athletes of all ages.
